A.X.L. - Movie Review (Netflix)

A Si-fi Movie that's rated PG? Nah, that's unheard of 2020!

Let's talk about one of the greatest science fiction movies I've seen. A.X.L. is a complete artificially intelligent robot dog. It becomes friends with a couple of young high school kids and it becomes a companion to them forming a bond between dog and the owner just as if it were a real dog they had rescued.

But, when the true purpose behind the A.X.L. is revealed, the story becomes even more twisty.

Book/Movie Review: Enders Game Written by Orson Scott Card

Enders Game was my gateway Novel into the exploration of the Science Fiction genre. The book follows the main character, EnderWiggan, an incredibly intelligent six-year-old boy who was drafted into the I.F. (International Fleet)

Ender was tracked from birth by the government because he is a third child on an overpopulated future Earth. On top of being a "third" Ender is also amounted to the physically weakest in his launch group of kids who are drafted to the I.F. to go to battle school to defeat the Aliens (known as the Buggers) before they invade Earth in a Second War.

The book brings out themes of standing against bullying and a dystopian government. I connected with Ender's Game on a deeper level, however, when I made the connection between the way that the teachers in the Battle School try to crack Ender to his breaking point and how I felt pushed to my limits by my high school administration who refused me services for my learning challenges. The way that Ender takes unconventional approaches to his battles throughout the book is inspiring and creatively motivating. Ender learns that by finding patterns he can also break them and be individualistic.

We Love You Sally Carmichael: Movie Review & Trailer

I recently had the opportunity to see We Love You, Sally Carmichael, in theaters with my family. So, as usual, when I get my hands on some awesome media, I share my review with all of you!

Plot:
The movie is about an author named Simon who wrote a best selling famous Siren series about a girl who falls in love with a merman. He creates a woman's pen name for fear of being seen as socially awkward as an author. When a famous actor named Parry Quin is commissioned to play the lead merman roll in the movie production of the Siren novels he demands to meet Sally Carmichael. Only one problem, Sally doesn't make appearances.

When Simon's publisher tells him to make an appearance with the actor or else surrender his royalty he is forced to reveal his long-held secret identity. The rest of the movie focuses on life after he is revealed as Sally Carmichael.

My Review:
This is by far one of the best movies I have seen in the theater since Rogue One: A Star Wars Story came out last December in 2016. We Love You Sally Carmichael has themes of love, perseverance, and even overcoming anxiety. It's a hilarious hit among the LDS Mormon community but I do think that the audience for this movie has the potential to grow.

I defiantly recommend the move to all authors and aspiring authors. It highlights the mounding efforts that go into becoming a successful published author in today's modern world. I connected with it because being a Sally Carmichael level author is my dream someday.

Netflix Original TV Series Project MC^2 Released a 5th Season!

That's right! This nerdy show about a group of girls working as undercover spy operatives in the organization Innovate is back!  The new season five features only five episodes but each episode brings more excitement to the avid fans the show has gained. It's aim is to teach us that "Smart is the new Cool" and I have to agree.

The application of knowledge in the show is quite incredible. Each girl has expertise in technology, engineering, wearable technology, chemistry, problem-solving and so much more. The main character Mackala Micalister leads the operations in the fifth season to uncover who is about to set a vile of self-replicating nanobots loose at SpaceINC's destination mars summer camp.

Makala Micalister earned her bird award and is now know as the "Owl" as we learn in the last episode exclusive in season four. Makala's duty to perform well as the Owl puts her under new pressure to succeed. To through more twists and turns into the season, the guy she has been dating throughout previous seasons named Kyle has no idea she was kidnapped at the end of season four.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty - Movie Review

We watched this in my Creative Writing Class. There is a lot of symbolism behind it that feeds my inner creative self. Our instructor used this movie to teach us about risk-taking in the process of writing. To write well we have to find our true creative identity. It's about the journey itself and the process of discovery.

Zootopia Movie Review

We had an early out day yesterday so I got together with my friends to see Zootopia which was quite good.

The movie starts out with a seen of the strong picking on the week. The predators on the pray. Then it explains that zootopia lives in peace.

The main Character is a Bunny who wants to be a police officer in the city Zootopia. She has to work really hard at her dream to be an officer. She learns how to do things her way instead of everyone else's way which made me think about my learning disabilities. She wanted to be a police officer to make the world a better place. In her journey to become a police officer she is given a hard time because she is a bunny.

She meets a Fox while she is on parking duty who she became friends with and who helps her to solve the case of the missing animals. She was given impossible odds to solve the case or she would be asked to resign. Her back story was a story of rejection and opposition. Everything told her she couldn't be an officer. The Fox's story, he wanted to be in a peace club but he was rejected because he was a fox. They told him he couldn't be trusted. The bunny didn't know if she could trust him either for a while.

She finds that the Predator Animals are going savage (or crazy) and they thought it had to do with genetics. All of the predators where seen as bad for a while. In reality the sheep secretary at the Police office was targeting the predators to keep the power on the pray. She was part of an operation that shot the predators with a poison that made them go savage. She later realized that she had made a huge mistake and any of the animals could go savage.

In the end Officer Hops and the Fox end up as police partners and friends. They were able to defy the odds before them and become something amazing together.
